Hastings Fiber Glass Products, Inc. is seeking a first-shift Warehouse Associate in Hastings, MI to help fill customer orders and pack outgoing shipments. You will pull parts from ship lists and pack them securely for transit, working primarily with a pallet jack and basic equipment.

Job description

Responsible for removing products from inventory to fill customer orders and packaging outgoing shipments to fill orders for customers. This is a FIRST SHIFT position, Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm, with overtime on Fridays 6am-noon or 4:30pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Comply with and adhere to applicable safety and work rules and requirements
  • Work independently and with other members of the department to fill customer orders
  • Pull parts identified on ship lists for customer orders
  • Pack parts carefully to reduce possibility of moving or breakage during transit
  • Fill out in-plant requisitions for supplies and give to Shipping Supervisor
  • Communicate and work well with other personnel to efficiently complete daily work
  • Complete all required paperwork
  • Accurately prepare hazardous items for shipping (i.e., complete paperwork and apply appropriate stickers to shipping containers)
  • Use computer to enter FedEx and UPS information for ground shipments
  • Load trucks when called upon
  • Move inventory to maintain organized work space, primarily using arms and pallet jack; occasionally a forklift may be required
  • Maintain clean and safe working environments in assigned areas
  • Comply with and adhere to all applicable ISO standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work on-site in Hastings, MI (not a remote position)
  • Continuous use of hands for grasping, pinching, folding cardboard, and carrying
  • Good spatial awareness (i.e., awareness of objects in the space around you and awareness of your body’s position in that space)
  • Good manual dexterity, with ability to use hand tools such as industrial stapler, utility knife, pliers, and hammer
  • Ability to bend or squat to retrieve product below waist-level, and to reach to retrieve product overhead
  • Ability to operate equipment such as bander and pallet jack
  • Ability to obtain company certification for powered industrial trucks and aerial lift and then use these vehicles to retrieve and move product
  • Ability to engage in medium-high repetition of tasks at a medium-high pace
  • Can tolerate production environment that is not climate controlled and can be noisy
  • Use of personal protective equipment as directed
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds alone; 100 pounds with a co-worker
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school education or equivalent required
