Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Shift: 3rd Shift

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock
- Carry out preplanned daily shipment organization and billing.
- Compile paperwork from production and checker/loaders.
- Review loading to ensure customer expectation achieved.
- Provide direction for checker/loaders to complete daily plans.
- Create updated loads as production orders finish
- Maximize trailer utilization per load
- Communicate with Shipping Supervisor and/or Production Superintendent about critical orders for delivery.
- Communicate with carrier to update with plan status throughout the shift.
- Experience with communication with carrier switcher.
- Experience with communication with customer service and customers regarding status of shipments.
- Must be able to do daily, weekly and monthly inventories and update any discrepancies.
- File completed paperwork.
- Coordination with off-site warehouse personnel.
- And other duties as assigned.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with PC software includes Microsoft Outlook
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheet
- Must be proficient in Microsoft office
- Experience and proficient with PCS/Kiwi production system
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
What you need to succeed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Basic math and reasoning skills
- Computer proficiency
- 2+ years shipping/receiving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and maintain organized work processes.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and other manufacturing conditions.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and walking, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to do their responsibilities and cover the Supervisor responsibilities when they are out of the office
- Be able to update spreadsheets that are normally updated by the supervisor - on an as needed basis
- Able to work extended/flexible hours - when needed
