Job summary

J&D SALES INC OF EAU CLAIRE in Altoona, WI is seeking a warehouse associate to verify shipments, prepare orders, and ensure accurate processing of outgoing merchandise. You will pick, pack, label, and load shipments, and record weights and charges for reporting.

Work involves coordinating with other departments to resolve issues, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the warehouse, and supporting all shipping/receiving tasks. 40 hours per week with flexible 10- or 8-hour day options.

JOB SUMMARY

Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Assemble, address, and ship merchandise or material and arrange for the transportation of products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• 1. Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming and/or outgoing shipments.
• 2. Pick, pack, and load orders per standard operating procedures.
• 3. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
• 4. Confer and correspond with other departments to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
• 5. Pack, seal, and label material to prepare it for shipping, using work devices such as hand and power tools.
• 6. Attach J&D Manufacturing Shipping Cards on ALL shipments.
• 7. Pull completed orders and other products needed to complete orders for shipment based off standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• 8. Load orders for customers that arrive on-site to pick up orders, while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• 9. Assist in all areas of Shipping/Receiving Department, as needed.
• 10. Keep all aisle ways and fire doors free of materials.
• 11. Participate in all aspects final product quality control inspections affected by warehouse and shipping in coordination with Supervisors/Managers and other departments.
• 12. Follow good housekeeping practices within the facility, including effective use of all warehouse space, and in external staging areas.
• 13. Inspect forklift at the beginning of each shift and follows designated checklist. Reports all defects/concerns to supervisor/manager immediately. Submits checklist daily to supervisor/manager.
• 14. Perform any other duties as assigned.

5, 8 hour days Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
