Job summary

HW Staffing Solutions is seeking a dependable Shipping Associate in Milford, CT to support shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.

The role requires accurate picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and cooperating with team members in a safe, efficient workspace. Monday–Friday schedule with an 8:00 AM–4:30 PM shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations is a plus.
• Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems is a plus.
• Basic computer and data entry skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Basic math skills for counts and verification.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, and label products accurately according to work orders and shipping documents.

Shipping Associate Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Associate to support shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and shipping customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, receiving incoming shipments, and ensuring products are stored and handled properly. The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

• Pick, pack, and label products accurately according to work orders and shipping documentation.
• Verify quantities, item numbers, and shipment contents to ensure order accuracy.
• Inspect products for damage or defects prior to shipment and report discrepancies.
• Apply proper packaging materials and methods to prevent damage during transit.
• Build, stage, and prepare pallets and cartons for outbound shipments.
• Communicate shipping issues, shortages, or delays to management in a timely manner.
• Process shipping transactions and maintain accurate records within the company’s inventory management system.

Receiving & Inventory Management

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Report damaged, incorrect, or missing items and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Store and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations while maintaining proper labeling and stock rotation.
• Perform inventory transactions and update inventory records in a computerized system.
• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Track inventory movement and assist with stock replenishment as needed.
• Assist with inventory reporting and documentation.

Warehouse Operations

• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely.
• Assist with receiving, put-away, and warehouse organization activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Support special projects and other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or order fulfillment preferred.
• Experience with inventory management software, ERP systems, or NetSuite is a plus.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts and order verification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 55 pounds regularly.
• Ability to safely use warehouse equipment and tools.
• Must wear required safety equipment when performing warehouse tasks.
