White Cap is seeking a Shipping Clerk who will assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment at our Connecticut facility. The role requires packing, labeling, and applying shipping labels accurately, with attention to inventory and invoicing details.
The position is on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule, offering an opportunity to grow within a diverse distribution environment. Requires a HS diploma or GED and 0–2 years of related experience.

Responsible for assembling orders and preparing goods for shipment.
Ensures all shipments receive the proper labeling, postal charges, and are packaged to arrive safely.
Prints daily sales receipts and cross-checks the computer software to ensure accuracy.
Keeps management and supervisors aware of product shortages to maintain accurate information on the company website.
Prepares inventory for shipment. Properly bands and shrink wraps pallets and attaches shipping labels.
Assembles and fills boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped.
Prepares detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensures all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
Tracks inventory and reports any shortages to sales team.
Works with other shipping clerks to see that all invoices are handled promptly and goods are shipped and stored properly.
Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.

$18.40 - $23.90 Hourly
