Job summary

Ampco Pumps Co Inc in Glendale, WI is seeking a reliable Shipping Associate to support order fulfillment in our fast-paced warehouse. You will pull parts, package shipments, prepare paperwork, and operate equipment.

This role requires accuracy, math skills, and good communication. Training is provided; forklift certification is a plus, as are prior warehouse or manufacturing experience.

• Communicate with Shipping Supervisor on packaging needs.
• Arrange freight on the dock and assist with loading/unloading.
• Follow safety policies and maintain housekeeping.

Job description

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications.

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual for our Shipping Associate position. This individual will assist in the Shipping duties using established policies and procedures as defined by Ampco Pumps. A self-starter with experience is desired, but willing to train the right candidate.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Pull parts accurately to fulfill customer orders.
• Package orders adequately to prevent shipping damage.
• Process shipments using UPS WorldShip.
• Package pumps provide weights and dimensions of shipments, label shipments, and complete shipping paperwork
• Utilize forklift, crane and/or hand trucks to move material from packaging area to staging area for shipment.
• Communicate regularly with Shipping Supervisor regarding the need for packaging materials and determine appropriate and sufficient packaging to avoid damage in transit.
• Arrange freight on the dock to increase efficiency when loading trucks and work with receiving to handle loading and unloading of all trucks.
• Be able to use hand tools such as drills, saws, etc.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, exercising strong attention to detail.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to lift/move parts and/or packages of various sizes, up to 50 lbs.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma/GED
• Prior warehouse/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift certified a plus.
