Job summary

Cayman Chemical Company, headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI, is hiring a Shipping Assistant I for the standard 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM shift. You will review tickets, pull inventory, pack shipments, and coordinate with customer service and inventory to ensure orders are accurate and shipments are prepared according to procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of shipping experience, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years of relevant shipping experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
• On-site work in Ann Arbor during 8:30 AM–5:00 PM shift.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with carrier software a plus (FedEx WorldShip, DHL Easyship, UPS WorldShip).

Responsibilities

• Review pick tickets for accuracy, pull inventory, and pack shipments efficiently.
• Prepare international and domestic packages with proper labeling and documentation.
• Communicate with customer service and inventory departments regarding orders.
• Document accurate records and database entries.
• Organize shipping paperwork and supplies.
• Investigate and resolve problem shipment cases.
• Ensure quality control during shipping.

Currently, we are looking to add a Shipping Assistant I (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM SHIFT) to the team:

Responsibilities And Duties

• Review pick tickets for accuracy, pull inventory, and pack shipments with efficiency and accuracy while complying with standard operation procedures
• Prepare international and domestic packages with appropriate labeling and documentation according to protocols
• Communicate with the customer service and inventory departments regarding orders
• Document accurate and detailed records and database entries
• Organize and maintain shipping paperwork for products
• Organize and maintain an adequate amount of shipping supplies
• Investigate, trace, and resolve problem shipment cases
• Ensure quality control levels when preparing and shipping packages

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: 1-2 years relevant work experience
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
• Experience with carrier software is a plus (FedEx, DHL Easyship, UPS Worldship)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 60 pounds
• Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM SHIFT)
