Job summary

Randstad USA in North Haven, CT is urgently hiring shipping and receiving clerks to manage inbound and outbound material flow. You will perform loading, unloading, receiving, shipping, and inventory staging while enforcing dock safety.

Work hours are 08:00 AM to 04:30 PM, with a contract-focused role open for thirty days. Candidates should be able to use pallet jacks and inventory software, and maintain accurate records of shipments, labels, and locations.

Qualifications

• Experience with dock operations and pallet jacks.
• Ability to verify counts against packing slips and direct material putaway.
• Proficiency using inventory management software for shipping/receiving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Material handling: load/unload/sort/move freight using pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Receiving: inspect inbound freight, verify counts, direct to quality or putaway area.
• Shipping: stage and load outbound trailers, ensure freight matches manifest and is secured.
• Inventory staging: move received goods quickly and stage finished goods for carrier pickup.
• Safety: enforce dock safety procedures with equipment operators and drivers.

Job description

Are you a master of the dock? We are urgently hiring shipping and receiving clerks who can handle the physical and administrative demands of both inbound and outbound material flow. Secure immediate contract income and consistent pay by accepting short-term mandates where your skills directly control warehouse efficiency and throughput.

Your responsibilities:

• Material handling: assist with the physical loading, unloading, sorting, and movement of freight on the docks, utilizing pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Receiving: inspect inbound freight for damage, verify counts against the packing slip, and direct materials to the correct quality or putaway area.
• Shipping: manage the final staging and loading of outbound trailers, ensuring all freight matches the final manifest and is securely stowed for transit.
• Inventory staging: ensure that all received goods are moved out of the dock area quickly, and all finished goods are staged correctly for carrier pickup.
• Safety: enforce and follow all dock safety procedures, coordinating safely with equipment operators and truck drivers in high-traffic zones.
