Job summary

Randstad USA in Cranston, RI is seeking a shipping and receiving clerk to manage inbound/outbound freight, verify documents, and maintain inventory accuracy. You will operate RF scanners and electric pallet jacks, build pallets, and ensure proper labeling and staging of materials.

Role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, attention to data entry, and experience with shipping documents. Regular hours are 08:30 AM - 05:00 PM at an on-site distribution center.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse shipping/receiving

• Understand shipping documents (bills of lading, packing slips) and WMS

Responsibilities

• Inbound processing: verify and reconcile incoming freight using BOLs and packing slips; data entry into WMS.
• Outbound processing: create shipping documents, manifests, and tracking labels; coordinate carrier pickups.
• Inventory accuracy: assist with inventory records; perform cycle counts or location checks.
• Staging and flow: manage staging areas for inbound materials and finished goods; ensure safe movement between docks and storage.
• Communication: act as primary contact for carriers; resolve minor documentation issues promptly.

Job description

Master both sides of the supply chain! Become a shipping and receiving clerk and enjoy consistent pay with the benefit of a flexible schedule. We offer short-term mandates in high-volume distribution centers, allowing you to use your administrative and organizational skills to manage the entire material flow cycle from inbound verification to outbound carrier dispatch.

Your responsibilities:

• Inbound processing: accurately verify and reconcile incoming freight using bills of lading (bols) and packing slips, noting discrepancies and ensuring prompt data entry into the warehouse management system (wms).
• Outbound processing: generate all necessary shipping documents, manifests, and tracking labels for outbound orders, coordinating carrier pickups and ensuring compliance.
• Inventory accuracy: assist with maintaining inventory records, performing quick cycle counts or location checks in both receiving and shipping areas.
• Staging and flow: manage the staging areas for both inbound materials and finished goods, ensuring efficient and safe movement between dock doors and storage locations.
• Communication: serve as the primary contact for both incoming carriers (deliveries) and outgoing carriers (pickups), resolving minor documentation issues quickly.
