Aerotek is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our Chambersburg, PA distribution facility. The role focuses on accurate picking, packing, receiving, and moving merchandise using RF scanners, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems to ensure efficient order fulfillment.

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving AssociateJob Description

The Shipping and Receiving Associate accurately picks, packs, receives, and moves merchandise within a busy distribution environment. This role uses warehouse management tools, powered material handling equipment, and conveyor systems to ensure orders are processed efficiently, storage areas are organized, and safety and quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack customer orders using established work practices and procedures.
• Restock picking bins with product from reserve storage based on warehouse management system reporting.
• Sort, count, and receive all merchandise with a high level of accuracy.
• Move product to and from pallet racks using powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
• Work with conveyor systems to build stable and accurate pallets of cartons for outbound shipments.
• Load and unload trucks, including sorting and labeling product as needed.
• Organize warehouse storage space effectively to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
• Use RF scanners/handheld scanners to perform picking, packing, receiving, and product movement tasks.
• Use sortation walls and conveyor systems to complete daily tasks and meet operational goals.
• Meet established safety, productivity, and quality standards on a consistent basis.
• Demonstrate flexibility in daily task assignments and perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to accurately pick and pack orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Experience with order selection, picking, and related warehouse processes.
• Capability to sort, count, and receive merchandise with strong attention to detail.
• Comfort using RF scanners or handheld scanning devices to follow work instructions.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
• Strong focus on safety, productivity, and quality in daily work.
• Flexibility to perform a variety of warehouse tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to organize storage space and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience is a plus.
• Experience working with conveyor systems and pallet building is beneficial.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and reporting is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a distribution and ecommerce environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a distribution and e-commerce facility that is not climate controlled, though fans are used to help with temperatures. The work involves standing, walking, and moving product throughout the shift, working with pallet jacks, RF scanners, sortation walls, and conveyor systems. Multiple shift options are available, including 6:30am-2:30pm Monday-Thursday, 9:30pm-5:30am Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-6:30pm Friday-Sunday, and 6:30pm-6:30am Friday-Sunday, providing both daytime and overnight schedules in a warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chambersburg, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
