Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking a dependable general laborer in Durant, OK to support loading, unloading, and shipping operations. You will follow safety rules, operate forklifts and yard equipment, and participate in daily housekeeping to keep the site organized.

As part of a fast-paced team, you will read pick tickets, place materials securely, and assist with inventory and loading for outbound deliveries. Prior forklift experience is helpful, and flexibility for shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, and noise.
• Willingness to rotate shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Overtime may be required and attendance is essential.
• Dependability in meeting business needs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CMC safety programs and uphold safety culture.
• Perform daily housekeeping and maintain a clean work area.
• Operate production equipment and mobile tools per procedures.
• Read pick tickets and load finished product onto trucks.
• Assist with inventory processes and warehouse locations.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture
• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• Work safely at all times by following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements
• Remove side boards from road trailers and prepare trailers for outbound deliveries
• Understand inventory processes, warehouse locations, and bin layouts
• Attend required equipment training andoperateproduction machines and mobile equipment (forklift, yard truck, etc.)in accordance withestablished procedures
• Guide, position, and land bundles; procure and place dunnage; place items according to width, length, size, etc, to best secure loads and utilize space; load material onto a specified car, trailer, or truck
• Properly read and execute "pick ticket" loading instructions and recognize the distinction between products
• Placed finished product on trucks for shipping and scan tags on trucks

• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
• Ability to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
