Shipper/Receiver – 2nd Shift
Job Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and safe handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Essential Job Functions
- Coordinate and execute the receiving of incoming shipments in a timely and accurate manner
- Verify incoming materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and other documentation
- Inspect received goods for damage, quantity discrepancies, and quality issues
- Complete system transactions in MRP/ERP and generate required reports
- Unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to the Supervisor
- Organize and stage received materials for storage or production use
- Complete inventory cycle counts on a daily basis per standardized work instructions
- Coordinate to ensure shipments are packaged and shipped ahead of due date
- Complete paperwork accurately: Bill of Lading, Customs Documentation, etc.
- Wrap and crate completed orders
- Load and unload trucks in a timely fashion
- Identify truck layouts for consolidated or large shipments
- Package finished goods for parcel shipments and process shipments through FedEx or UPS
- Identify and communicate potential late orders daily
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving area
- Work safely and effectively, following all company safety protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth material flow
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation
- 1–3 years of warehouse and shipping/receiving experience
- Thorough knowledge of packaging standards and freight damage prevention
- Excellent inspection and verification skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with supervisor and team members
- Proactive problem‑solving skills, initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Leadership skills to direct and allocate work within the department
- Forklift experience and certification
- Availability for overtime when necessary to meet business needs
- Shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30PM–11:00PM
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $18.42 – $21.53 (actual salary may vary)
