Job description

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for executing shipping and receiving tasks to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. It also includes light production duties to support on-time production and uphold high standards of quality, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading trucks and moving finished goods/raw materials throughout facilities, including the use of forklifts.
• Printing labels and SDS sheets from the WERCS software system.
• Assisting in tracking material inventory and performing inventory counts.
• Storing and retrieving raw materials, finished goods, and supplies in the warehouse.
• Cleaning up spills of non-hazardous items.
• Preparing drums/bins for shipment.
• Assisting in investigating customer complaints.
• Maintaining a clean and safe facility through general housekeeping duties.
• Loading and unloading tankers.
• Inspecting drums, bins, etc. for shipment.
• Communicating late shipments to customer care representative.
• Making UPS and FedEx shipments and calling trucks for shipments.
• Creating bill of lading for shipments and confirming paperwork.
• Loading containerized and bulk raw materials to production vessels.
• Operating production equipment and drawing off product into drums, pails and totes.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Good command of the English language.
• Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software, and Database software.
• Good communication and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, handle multiple projects, follow instructions, and think analytically.
• Team player, result/customer oriented.

Preferred

• Previous shipping and receiving experience.
• Tow motor certification.

Work Environment

May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts. Must safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations and tolerate moderate noise levels.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to carefully manipulate samples, apparatus, and sensitive instruments; stand, reach with hands and arms; walk, sit, talk, or hear; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires near vision and ability to adjust focus.
