Job Purpose

This position reports directly to the Material and Logistics Supervisor and is primarily responsible for handling, processing incoming material, shipping material from the Material and Logistics departments, and supporting other team members to maintain a consistent and timely material flow. Additional responsibilities include weighing materials, managing inventory systems, and physically moving containers. The role involves verifying weights/quantities, transacting metal through various processes, and conducting physical inventories. Over time, the incumbent will be cross-trained in additional Supply Chain functions.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Safety:
   • Ensure adherence to EH&S standards and safety policies, participating in safety meetings.
   • Maintain safe work practices for oneself and team members.
2. Quality:
   • Monitor material and inventories, ensure proper weighing and recording of all metal transactions.
   • Investigate and escalate non-conformances, document all metal movements.
3. Delivery:
   • Support OTIF goals by ensuring timely shipments, communicate with team leads, and ensure proper packing and transportation compliance.
   • Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
4. Cost:
   • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support problem-solving efforts.
5. People:
   • Assist team members, promote collaboration, and model JM values and behaviors.

Role Requirements

• Vocational education with over 3 years of relevant on-the-job training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems including JM’s MRP platform.
• Good communication skills for effective team collaboration.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
