Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Warehouse Shipper & Receiver to operate forklifts, load and unload trailers, and maintain accurate shipping records. You will label and package loads correctly, coordinate with shifts, and ensure 5S and safety policies are followed in daily operations.

The role requires daily forklift inspections, cross-training to cover Warehouseman and Packager duties, and adherence to PPE and safety standards to prevent incidents and downtime.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with equipment components, sub-systems, and terminology.
• Ability to cross-train and fill in for Warehouseman and Packager.
• Ability to implement and understand 5S.
• Ability to wear PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and fall protection when required.
• Ability to comply with safety training and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently and maintain shipping records.
• Load outbound trailers and unload inbound shipments.
• Label and package loads correctly and verify quantities.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and assist with maintenance tasks.
• Cross-train to cover Warehouseman and Packager duties.
• Maintain 5S practices and keep the warehouse clean and organized.
• Coordinate with shifts to ensure continuity and communicate issues to management.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety procedures; keep tools in good condition.

Job description

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
• Load trailers for outbound shipments
• Unload trailers with incoming shipments
• Ensure proper relief before departing
• Label and package finished door skin loads correctly
• Verify trucks are loaded with correct quantities and products
• Complete and accurately maintain shipping records
• Stack loads correctly to avoid product damage
• Maintain forklifts and clean them as needed
• Assist with primeline cleanups
• Maintain housekeeping and organization in the warehouse
• Communicate with the Shipping Lead and Warehouseman regarding process and inventory conditions
• Coordinate with oncoming and off-going personnel to ensure shift continuity
• Communicate issues, adjustments, changes, supply issues, maintenance needs, hazards, and accidents/injuries to management
• Maintain complete and accurate written and/or electronic records and data
• Perform daily forklift inspections
• Perform or assist with maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime
• Cross-train and fill in for the Warehouseman and Packager
• Abide by company policies and procedures
• Implement and understand 5S
• Perform other duties assigned by management

• Overtime may be required
