Hood Container Corporation in St. Francisville, LA is seeking a dependable Shipper 1 to join our Shipping/Warehouse team on a rotating shift. The role focuses on accurately preparing, loading, and shipping finished paper products per customer orders and company standards.

Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, organized, able to operate forklifts and handling equipment, and capable of working well in a fast-paced warehouse while maintaining accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous shipping, warehouse, or material handling experience is a plus.
• Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work orders.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy products (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in an industrial warehouse environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Pick, stage, and load finished paper products according to shipping orders and schedules.
• Verify product types, quantities, and condition to ensure accurate shipments.
• Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect products for damage before loading and report any issues immediately.
• Complete all required shipping paperwork and system entries accurately and on time.
• Communicate and coordinate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse personnel to ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations.
• Assist with unloading and receiving incoming shipments as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
