Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a warehouse associate to prepare and process outgoing truckload, LTL, and overnight shipments. You will ensure items ship to the correct location according to schedules, using a hand scanner and computer systems to generate labels.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with overtime Monday through Saturday evenings. The role requires lifting, standing, and operating pallet jacks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related experience in a distribution setting preferred.
• Basic computer skills; able to learn and use in-house and vendor software applications.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions; able to work accurately with numbers.

Responsibilities

• Sorts packages and uses a hand scanner to determine shipment status.
• Checks boxes to ensure they are sealed, properly labeled and free from damage; adheres to quality standards.
• Enters package data into the computer to generate shipping labels.
• Transfers LTL and UPS packages to the appropriate staging locations.
• Palletizes skids and loads product onto trucks.
• Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies to complete tasks without waste.
• Uses knowledge to resolve basic operating problems; reports issues to manager.
• Operates a pallet jack (manual and/or motorized).
• Picks non-conveyable items and locates them to the appropriate staging area.
• May perform regular audits on outgoing customer shipments for accuracy.

Pay: $16.25/hour (plus an additional $1.50 shift differential)

Work Environment

Shipping/Receiving: Fast-paced, standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Shipping/Receiving: Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 200 lbs.
