Job summary

Valmont Industries in Jasper, TN is seeking a forklift operator to move freight, load goods, and manage inventory with attention to safety and accuracy. The role involves operating forklifts and yard trucks, counting materials, and preparing shipments according to BOLs and pick sheets.

Responsibilities include daily safety checks, reporting unsafe conditions, and coordinating with the Shipping Supervisor. The position requires reading scales and tape measures, working outdoors in varying

Qualifications

Ability to accurately read tape measures.
Ability to stand 90% of time.
Able to work outside in extreme heat or cold.
Able to operate forklifts, flat bed trucks and hand tools.
Must be accurate in logging inventory transactions in a variety of formats.
Ability to work overtime when required for business needs.
Must be forklift certified by the company.

Responsibilities

Load product per shipping orders and pick sheet.
Operate equipment including fork lift, flat bed trucks (yard dogs) and hand tools.
Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Handle scrap and control flow of scrap trailers.
Assist with cycle counts and material handling moves from staging to storage.
Prep poles for finisher (pole caps, dunnage, blocks, banding, etc.).
Install access covers for Bridge product and rivnuts.
