Job summary

SMITHS TUBULAR SYSTEMS - LACONIA is seeking a Warehouse/Shipping Associate to ensure timely packing and shipping of manufactured pieces. The role requires packaging to meet company and customer standards, weighing and postage, and data entry for shipping labels.

You will work under the Shipping Supervisor and perform duties in compliance with postal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include preparing products for domestic and international shipping, reviewing items with the TCO, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Packages assemblies and inspect wrapping, parts, and containers for conformance to company standards, customer requirements, shipping companies, and postal regulations
• Weighs packages and determines postage and affixes postage stamps to packages
• Prepares product and packages for shipping in conformity with company, customer, and government regulations, both domestic and internationally
• Navigate shipping websites to generate shipping labels and enter data accurately
• Access customer websites to provide up-to-date shipping data
• Review questionable items with the company Technical Control Officer (TCO)
• Sort parcels for shipment according to destination or other classification
• Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Under the general direction of the Shipping Supervisor, this position is responsible for the timely packing and shipping of manufactured pieces. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Packages assemblies and inspect wrapping, parts, and containers for conformance to company standards, customer requirements, shipping companies, and postal regulations
• Weighs packages and determines postage and affixes postage stamps to packages
• Prepares product and packages for shipping in conformity with company, customer, and government regulations, both domestic and internationally
• Able to navigate and accurately enter data into various shipping websites for the generation of shipping labels
• Able to navigate customer websites to provide up to date shipping data
• Review questionable items with the company Technical Control Officer (TCO)
• Sorts parcels for shipment according to destination or other classification
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
