Job summary

The Suddath Companies is seeking a detail-oriented coordinator to manage the Pre-Move Survey process for military shipments. You will ensure surveys are received on time, update DPS/GMMS, and coordinate with military offices, vendors, and internal teams.

This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and timely handling of preapprovals, government documents, and delivery schedules, with opportunities for growth in a stable, veteran-friendly logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience and/or training.
  • Prior experience in the moving industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Pre-Move Survey is received and processed by military deadlines.
  • Update DPS and GMMS with survey weight, dates, and address changes.
  • Enter and monitor preapprovals for accessorial services.
  • Interface with Military Transportation Offices and vendors regarding preapproval status.
  • Assist Billing and Accounts Payable with resolving preapproval issues.
  • Process and distribute Government Bill of Lading documents.
  • Verify transit times and Required Delivery Date accuracy.
  • Update system notes regarding changes and communication.

Summary:

Ensure Pre-Move Survey is received and processed in accordance to military deadlines

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Pre-Move Survey is received and processed in accordance to military deadlines.
  • Update DPS and GMMS with pre-move survey weight, dates, and address changes.
  • Enter and monitor all preapprovals for accessorial services in accordance to the 400NG and International Tender.
  • Interface with Military Transportation Offices, vendors, customer service, and operations regarding preapproval status.
  • Assist Billing and Accounts Payable departments with resolving preapproval issues.
  • Process and distribute all Government Bill of Lading documents.
  • Verify transit times to ensure the Required Delivery Date is accurate on all Government Bill of Lading documents.
  • Update system with notes regarding changes and communication.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prior experience in the moving industry preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills required.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Must have strong data entry skills.
