Job summary

Snow & Company Inc is hiring a Shipfitter in Seattle, WA. The role requires interpreting blueprints, cutting, fitting, welding and assembling metal structures for shipbuilding projects.

You will work in a fast-paced shipyard environment, collaborate with teammates, and ensure safety and quality standards. On-site duties include both manual work and operation of fabrication equipment; relocation incentives may apply.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional shipfitting experience.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at odd angles.
• Knowledge of marine welding.
• Ability to understand manuals and manufacturer information.
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting blueprints, ship drawings, layouts and welding symbols.
• Cutting and fitting metal plates and beams using torches, grinders, and plasma cutters.
• Tack welding and fitting structural components together.
• Aligning hull structures using jacks, wedges, and chain falls.
• Tack welding and reinforcing joints to company standards.
• Inspecting assemblies for accuracy, gaps and structural integrity.
• Moving parts into position with hoists or cranes.
• Operating fabricating machines to form and assemble components.
• Measuring, templating, cutting and grinding components.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
