Job summary

Pacific Maritime Group is seeking an experienced Shipfitter in California to read blueprints, fit, weld and assemble metal sections of ships and vessels. The role requires strong metalworking, welding, and blueprint-reading skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a shipfitter.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specs.
• Proficient in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW welding processes.
• Must pass respirator fit test at onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Fitting and alignment of parts before permanent joining.
• Fabrication and assembly of metal plates and structural components.
• Welding components in place prior to final welds by others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
