Job summary

GreenXT in San Diego, CA seeks a Junior to Intermediate Network Field Technician to support GEDMS on DDG-51 destroyers. You will install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Navy interior communications systems and networks, interfacing with Navy personnel and contractors.

Responsibilities include field deployment, repair, documentation, and ensuring systems meet shipboard requirements. Travel up to 25% and US citizenship with DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) are required.

Qualifications

• High school/vocational degree or GED with 7+ years in network/communication systems (DoD/USN preferred)
• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain U.S. Navy interior communications systems and networks
• Provide on-site and field support to the DDG 51 Class Destroyers
• Work under an experienced waterfront Field Engineer on installs with the goal of taking an independent role in the future
• Assemble, rework, and test high reliability assemblies utilizing the proper tools, equipment, and processes
• Interface with project and manufacturing engineers in resolution of problems on hardware
• Perform work including manual hand operations and rework/repair of hardware as needed
• Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format
