Job summary

Serco is hiring a Marine Electrician to support U.S. Naval Ships. The role involves joining a team to fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies on-board Navy vessels, following safety protocols and procedures.

Ideal candidates bring 2 years of shipboard experience, DoD Secret clearance eligibility, and the ability to work in demanding environments, including travel to various Navy sites. High school diploma or equivalent is required, with OSHA certification being a plus.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Shipboard Marine Electrician experience or similar/related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS) and pass a background check.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined, hot spaces.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA concepts and procedures in electrical repair, fabrication, and installation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests and measurements, modify setups as needed, and record data.
• Perform independent recurring work and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Assemble components, subunits, or simple models and adapt standard equipment.
• Maintain engineering data records and perform basic data plotting.
• Operate simple test equipment and document test results.
