Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies, Global Security (GS) group, seeks a Marine Electrician for SEMAT in Yokosuka, Japan. This role performs maintenance and training to support shipboard engineering systems on USN surface ships.

Requires 6 years in marine electrical trades, DoD clearance eligibility, and ability to operate in challenging shipboard environments. Travel and CAC access may be required; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• High School education or trade school and 6 years of related experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance and SOFA LOA.
• Shipboard marine electrical trades experience with maintenance/repair.
• Ability to read ship drawings and manuals.
• Competent with mechanical equipment and tools used for ship repairs.
• Provide own hand tools as designated for trades.
• Physically able to climb and work on ships in an industrial environment.
• Start date contingent on CAC ID base access.

Responsibilities

• Assist ship's force personnel with shipboard electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Apply understanding of production and processes to complete assignments.
• Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and direct others as needed.
• Perform a variety of complex and non-routine tasks.
• Develop and use technical documents including work packages and test reports.
• Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management; work outside specialty to complete installation.
