Job summary

Hornblower Corp in Ceiba, Puerto Rico, is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to oversee daily maintenance operations on our vessels. You will guide technicians, manage work orders, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability across shipboard systems.

Responsibilities include supervising teams, implementing PM programs, mentoring staff, and coordinating with departments to minimize downtime. Strong CMMS and leadership skills are essential for success in a dynamic, fast-paced maritime environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years hands-on maintenance experience with 1–2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong leadership, safety, and CMMS proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure timely task completion.
• Safety First. Be an active advocate of, and participant in the Safety Culture.
• Demonstrate practical knowledge of shipboard safety procedures and equipment locations.
• Implement and monitor Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Develop work orders and issue maintenance assignments.
• Monitor completion of tasks by Company personnel and outside contractors.
• Maintain machinery history.
• Sail as watch Chief Engineer if required.
• Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure effective maintenance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
• Support preventive maintenance schedules.
• Mentor and train team members for skill growth.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
• Coordinate with other departments to minimize disruption.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with resource planning and performance reviews.
