Job summary

Leidos Defense Group in San Diego, CA seeks a Tech III Shipboard Installer to support installation, maintenance, and modernization of ASW sonar systems. You will become SME for installations, ensure safety, and coordinate with subcontractors on deck plates to meet schedules and quality standards.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years field installation experience, fiber-optic testing skills, and the ability to obtain/maintain an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years direct field installation experience.
• Proficient in cable continuity and megger testing.
• Proficient in fiber-optic preparation, termination and testing.
• Ability to read electrical installation drawings.
• U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance or eligible.
• Experience with safety lockout/tagout programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for installations and plan future tasks.
• Conduct WAF and lockout/tagout processes.
• Navigate 9090-310 requirements for installation completion.
• Ensure tasking is completed on time through leadership.
• Maintain safety of personnel, equipment, and Ship's Force.
• Oversee subcontractors at deck-plate level and communicate with leadership.
• Train team members on safety regulations and procedures.
