Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an Electronic Field Engineer II to support submarine systems testing, installation, calibration, and repair.

You will draft documentation, provide technical input for TempAlts/OpAlts/ShipAlts, and perform shipboard checks while maintaining security clearances.

Qualified candidates have 6+ years sonar experience in the Navy and can obtain a secret clearance; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 6+ years of experience working with sonar systems as a sonar technician in the Navy.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, installation, calibration, repair, and modification of equipment and systems.
  • Solve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications.
  • Conduct laboratory and shipboard work.
  • Conduct submarine ship checks to determine the necessary efforts to seamlessly install systems onboard a platform.
  • Draft Memorandums of Agreement, Work Authorization Forms, System Tag outs and Controlled work packages.
  • Provide technical input and review for developing new Temporary Alterations (TempAlts), Operational Alterations (OpAlts) and Ship Alterations (ShipAlts).
  • Author detailed reports.
