Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Tech III Shipboard Installer in Norfolk, VA to perform installations and maintenance of ASW sonar systems. The role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety-first practices, and coordination with engineers and subcontractors to deliver on-time task completion.

A current Secret clearance or eligibility is required. The position demands five years of field installation experience, familiarity with cable tests, fiber optics, and electrical drawings, and physical ability to lift up

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required.
5+ years direct field installation experience.
Proficient in cable continuity and megger testing.
Proficient in fiber-optic cable prep, termination and testing.
Familiar with optical time-domain reflectometers and related test sets.
Ability to read electrical installation drawings and red-lines.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with active Secret clearance or eligible.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for installations; plan future installations and prepare for tasks.
Conduct WAF and lockout/tag-out processes.
Understand 9090-310 requirements and documentation for RMMCO checks.
Ensure on-time completion of all tasking through leadership and expertise.
Maintain safety of personnel, equipment, and shipboard systems at all times.
Oversee subcontractors on deck and provide feedback to project engineer.
Mentor team members on safety regulations and training.
