Job summary

Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Tech III Shipboard Installer in our Norfolk, VA office. You will serve as a subject matter expert for shipboard installations, plan future installations, and ensure safety and on-time completion of tasks for complex cable and fiber optic systems on naval platforms.

Required: 5+ years direct field installation experience, U.S. citizenship with active Secret clearance or eligibility, ability to lift 50 lb, and ladder access.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of field installation experience.
• Proficient in cable continuity and megger testing.
• Proficient in fiber-optic preparation, termination and testing.
• Able to read electrical installation and red-line drawings.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance or eligibility.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for installations and plan future work.
• Conduct WAF and lockout/tagout.
• Understand 9090-310 requirements for RMMCO check-in and installation.
• Ensure timely task completion through leadership and knowledge.
• Maintain safety of personnel, ship, and equipment.
• Oversee subcontractors on deck plate level and provide feedback.
• Adhere to safety regs and mentor team on safety practices.
