Job summary

Prism Maritime is seeking a Fire Safety Specialist/Engineer I to serve as the Damage Control subject matter expert for shipboard fire safety assessments and training. The role involves leading inspections, policy review, and training of shipboard Fire Marshals and in-port Emergency Teams, with a minimum of five years’ shipboard DC experience.

Position is based in Coronado, CA, with travel to industrial availabilities as needed. Security clearance requirements apply (Secret) and U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience working onboard ship in Damage Control.
• Thorough knowledge of Damage Control systems, per NSTM and naval publications.
• Working knowledge of major equipment/systems aboard naval ships.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspector and subject matter expert for Shipboard Firefighting and Damage Control.
• Plan and execute Damage Control Fire Safety inspections aboard surface combatants.
• Provide technical guidance on shipboard Damage Control and Firefighting systems during maintenance availabilities.
• Monitor readiness and condition of firefighting equipment and related gear on CNSP ships.
• Collaborate with NAVSEA, TYCOM, and support contractors on industrial availabilities.
