Job summary

Prism Maritime is seeking an Environmental Safety and Health Specialist II/III for in-office work in Chesapeake, VA. You will support QA/ESH with compliance, policy implementation, regulatory reporting, and on-site inspections aboard naval and shipyard projects.

Level II/III qualifications include specified education/experience combinations; OSHA and HazMat certifications are preferred. Requires US citizenship, security clearance up to Secret, and willingness to travel; driver's license is

Qualifications

• Experience and/or education combinations consistent with Level II/III ES&H in shipyard industry.
• US Military experience related to ES&H may substitute for education or experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company safety policy and federal/state/local ESH requirements.
• Conduct on-site safety and environmental compliance inspections.
• Assist in training personnel on health, safety and environmental standards.
• Perform internal audits to ensure adherence to procedures and policies.
• Coordinate with QA/ESH and Operations to determine best practices and corrective actions.
• Vet and monitor industry partners for environmental management tasks.
• Conduct noise and air monitoring to develop exposure profiles.
• Review data to ensure product and process compliance with ISO and regulatory standards.
• Support worksites to identify hazards and establish appropriate controls.
• Maintain ESH records and program documentation; update manuals and procedures.
• Develop/modify Level II, III & IV ESH program documents.
• Be able to access all areas of a ship daily; willing to cross-train in QA/ESH tasks.
• Overtime may be required; travel locally and nationally/internationally as needed.
• Possess a State Driver’s License; perform other duties as needed.
