Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking Manufacturing Technicians for the Bremerton West site to perform submarine shipboard and manufacturing work in support of delivered ships. Candidates should be proficient in blueprint reading and ship assembly, with the ability to travel to other shipyards as needed.

This is not an entry-level role; candidates must be experienced in naval maintenance and modernization, flexible, and able to learn new skills with appropriate training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry.
• Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must.
• Must have the ability to perform the functions of the craft to the proper procedures and policies in a safe manner.
• Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification.
• Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification.
• Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification
• Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements.
• Selected candidates must be able to pass a practical exam for position applied.

Responsibilities

• Perform submarine shipboard and manufacturing work to support delivered ships at the EB West site.
• Read blueprints and ship drawings to establish lines and positions for installation.
• Travel as required to other shipyards within the continental United States.
• Possess flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Maintain safety, quality, cost, and schedule through continuous improvement.
