Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Bremerton, WA is seeking Manufacturing Technicians with a focus on electrical work to support submarine shipboard assembly and modernization. This role requires hands-on experience, blueprint and NAVSEA drawing proficiency, and the ability to work in a multi-discipline team at EB West.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in shipbuilding or manufacturing, and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing.
• Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and other documents for task performance.
• Must perform functions following proper procedures and safety policies.
• Must qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification.
• Must qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification.
• Must qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification.
• Must qualify and maintain EB Heavy Metals Program requirements.
• Selected candidates must pass a practical exam for position applied.

Responsibilities

• Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States; extended work assignments possible.
• May work evenings, weekends, and/or holidays; shift work and overtime may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
• Support site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement.
