Job summary

Serco is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Navy shipboard installations in Norfolk, VA. You will assemble electromechanical components, follow blueprints, and maintain equipment on naval ships and facilities.

Required are a high school diploma, the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance, OSHA/respirator certifications, and shipyard access. The role includes potential 10% travel and extended shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of shipboard experience is expected.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and reading drawings is required.
• Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance and shipyard access.
• OSHA 10/OSHA certification and respirator qualifications are preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and blueprint interpretation is expected.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, diagrams, and drawings to assemble electromechanical components.
• Perform preventive maintenance as per manufacturer instructions and report issues.
• Work with limited supervision to plan and complete tasks.
• Operate safely in shipboard environments with potential noise and heat.
• Handle equipment with care to avoid injuries and incidents.
• Travel up to 10% to various work sites as needed.
