Job summary

Princess Cruises seeks an experienced Ship Superintendent for a hybrid Miami-based role. You will provide technical support, manage budgets, and coordinate dry-dock/wet-dock projects across vessels, working with Fleet Technical Operations and various departments.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years afloat in senior engineering roles, strong project management and data-analytic skills, and familiarity with AMOS and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid maritime engineering license (Second Engineer or Senior Electrician) for AC Diesel-Electric vessels.
  • Experience managing vessel maintenance programs from shoreside.
  • Proficiency in project management practices.
  • Working knowledge of Class Society and Flag State regulations.
  • Proficiency with AMOS for planned maintenance and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • 5–7 years proven experience overseeing technical operations on commercial or passenger vessels.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory standards for compliance.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance data and survey findings for risk mitigation.
  • Experience managing vessel certification schedules and renewals.
  • Experience responding to audits and marine casualty reports with CAPAs.

Responsibilities

  • Vessel Technical Oversight and Maintenance: manage repair/maintenance activities and document maintenance. Oversee AMOS planning and assist PBL manager with engine overhauls and DG issues.
  • Dry-Dock and Wet-Dock Planning and Execution: plan and oversee dry/wet-dock repairs, maintain docking records, coordinate with vendors and ship management.
  • Budget Management and Cost Control: manage budgets, assist with annual budget and monitor expenses with finance and supply chain.
  • Compliance, Certification, and Safety: ensure compliance with HESS/SMS, maintain certifications, review surveys and regulatory updates.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication: serve as shoreside contact, align with shipboard teams and departments, support hiring when needed.
