Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Ship Superintendent for Columbia Ship Management. The role covers forward, aft and exterior construction activities on the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (SSBN826) program.

This is a second shift position requiring strong coordination across engineering, QA, planning, and program offices. Responsibilities include maintaining ARTEMIS schedules, cost and progress, coordinating manpower, and interfacing with NAVY.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or GED
• 4+ years EB experience in engineering, test, program office, or shipyard trades - OR - 5+ years outside experience in manufacturing/operations in project management, construction, military, planning, or shipyard trade
• Available to work any shift, extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• Preferred: Computer skills including Microsoft Office, MS Project, TeamCenter, and Lotus Notes

Responsibilities

• Maintain ARTEMIS schedules, cost and progress
• Oversee work order attainment and inspection processes
• Coordinate design deliverables and material availability
• Coordinate Test coordination and integration
• Interface with internal and external senior leadership
• Lead ship progress meetings to coordinate trade activities
• Interface with NAVY customer on concerns and status
• Resolve items affecting Ship's Construction with cross-functional teams
