Ship Clerks play a crucial role in the Middle Mile network and are responsible for supporting the company's mission to be Earth's most customer-centric company. They manage daily department duties including planning loads around standard departure times, load flow control, and ensuring proper trailer utilization. Ship Clerks can assign job duties, provide work direction, and communicate with internal and external partners.
Ship Clerks will execute standard work impacting Safety, Quality, Productivity, Utilization, and On-time Performance. They support daily management of load planning, load flow control, load quality, TDR, communication with upstream and downstream partners, labor allocation, leading meetings, and assigning duties. They escalate barriers to Operations Leaders to mitigate issues affecting safety and performance.
- 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks
- Work 40 hours/week plus overtime as needed
- Training, teaching, or presentation experience
- Willingness to work different shifts and areas as needed
- Excellent attendance and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
- Support operational excellence initiatives
