Job summary

Corning Inc. in Hemlock, MI, is seeking a Shift Technician to support raw materials manufacturing, drive process control, and lead a shift in the absence of the team leader. You will collaborate with the technical, maintenance, and quality teams to improve operational excellence and cost reduction.

Responsibilities include improving OEE, safety, and 5S, compiling reports, and providing documentation for projects while supporting engineering activities and ensuring safe production.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong PLC control system knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety incidents and provide feedback.
• Compile shift/production reports.
• Improve OEE and performance.
• Downtime reconciliation and reduction.
• Safety and 5S compliance.
• Develop standard work instructions and SOPs across the plant.
• Ensure compliance to quality specifications and sampling.
• Provide information for Run Reviews with Line Leaders and engineers.
• Assist with training and certification of employees.
• Support engineering activities impacting manufacturing improvements.
• Provide production support for throughput or safety issues.
• Address chronic process issues and implement robust controls.
