Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Hemlock, MI is seeking a Cleaning & Packaging Shift Technician to support cleaning and packaging operations on a rotating 2-3-2 schedule. This hands-on role connects production, maintenance, engineering, and quality on the shop floor to keep processes running safely and efficiently.

You will troubleshoot equipment, monitor performance, analyze downtime, and drive continuous improvements while supporting operators and supervisors to maximize output and OEE.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing support and troubleshooting of process equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems (low/medium voltage, PLCs, temperature controls, safety systems).
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems (pneumatic controls, flow control, material handling).
• Demonstrated problem-solving using data to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for operators, maintenance, engineering and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput and quality.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Track, analyze, and report shift performance metrics (OEE, downtime, production).
• Investigate chronic issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and process control.
• Participate in safety investigations and promote 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Contribute to pre-run and post-run reviews with operations and engineering.
