Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned work to develop management skills, learn about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understand CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff
  • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy and foster positive shopping experiences
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
    Qualifications

    Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

    Preferred: Retail experience.

    Education

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

    Additional Details

    Anticipated Weekly Hours: 40

    Time Type: Full-time

    Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

    The actual salary depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.
