Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes basic operations training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff.
   • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning, directing, and following up.
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
   • Promote CVS's customer service culture — greet, offer help, and thank customers.
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
   • Maintain confidentiality of customer/patient information.

Required Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 16

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
