Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned work to develop supervisory skills, complete basic management training, and learn about key aspects of the business, including customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in executing store operations and enhancing customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth operations, and manages opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Apply deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer skills.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Management
  • Collaborate effectively with store management and staff.
  • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up.
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members.
Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Promote CVS’s customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking).
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Experience in retail (preferred).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred but not required).
Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 20

Employment type: Part-time

Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
