MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The French Canadian Reviewer is responsible for the overall quality of their language at an account level.

The French Canadian Multimedia Content Reviewer will be writing and reviewing linguistic content in French Canadian to ensure the highest quality of accuracy for customers using multimedia platforms.

They will become the cultural ambassador for their language market, producing fully localized content and flagging potential cultural issues, suggesting modifications to ensure content is appropriate and relevant for the target markets.

The ideal candidate has a background in journalism or similar, proven creative writing skills, and a keen attention to detail. Passion for music, film, tech, and familiarity with iOS and Mac OS devices are also desirable.

MAIN DUTIES

• Localize, translate, and adapt content across various categories, adhering to style guides and guidelines.
• Create new copy for multimedia products such as music, TV, apps, video on-demand, and gaming subscriptions.
• Perform linguistic reviews of their own work and that of team members across content types.
• Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy.
• Conduct LQA testing on live platform content, including descriptions and marketing materials.
• Research market-specific content trends, terminology, and localization best practices.
• Transcribe spoken content like lyrics.
• Report on data/assets across media types.
• Create training materials and ensure team training on terminology, style, and best practices.
• Collaborate with global teams via virtual meetings and emails to ensure consistent terminology and style, and to understand market insights.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or media content editing, with writing samples.
• Experience in multimedia content translation and localization.
• Strong ability to detect issues and inconsistencies in large content volumes and make informed decisions.
• Knowledge of music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
• Ability to own language market and make confident linguistic decisions.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking, prioritization, and deadline management skills.
• Native in French Canadian and fluent in English.
• Proficiency in computer skills; knowledge of iOS/macOS is a plus.
• Capable of typing in native language using a local keyboard.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Team player, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
