Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term role that prepares an employee for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The Trainee performs work as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, Trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management by driving store execution and performance, and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Utilize deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills.
  • Work flexible hours, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff.
  • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
Customer Service
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  • Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank customers.
  • Handle customer relations per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, effective communication, flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications: Retail experience.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 20
  • Part-time position
  • Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
