Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned tasks to gain skills in operations and management, learn about building customer loyalty through excellent service, and understand CVS/pharmacy culture. Successful completion of training makes candidates eligible for promotion to supervisory roles that support store management in driving performance and customer satisfaction. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff and ensures smooth operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
2. Work effectively with store management and staff
3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities
4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
5. Customer Service
6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
7. Promote CVS customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking)
8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
9. Maintain customer confidentiality

Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
• Advanced communication skills
• Flexible schedule availability, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20
• Time Type: Part time
• Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
