Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned tasks to develop management skills, learn about the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understand CVS/pharmacy culture. Successful completion of the program makes candidates eligible for promotion to supervisory roles, which support store operations, drive performance, and enhance customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities through assigning, directing, and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations per company policy, ensuring positive shopping experiences
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated Weekly Hours: 35
  • Time Type: Full time
  • Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
