Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares employees for higher supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key business aspects like building customer loyalty through exceptional service, and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support store management in driving store performance and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
   • Work effectively with store management and staff
   • Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up
   • Communicate effectively with management and staff
2. Customer Service
   • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
   • Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, help, thank)
   • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
   • Maintain customer confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency
• Advanced communication skills
• Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in retail

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

• Anticipated weekly hours: 20
• Time type: Part time
• Pay range: $17.10 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location
