Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term role that prepares an employee to perform a higher-level supervisory role, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The Trainee performs work as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, Trainees are eligible for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrate deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Exhibit advanced communication skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Manage store staff by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints, promoting CVS’s customer service culture.
  • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, maintaining confidentiality.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40

Employment type: Full-time

Pay Range: $19.56 - $27.06 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
