Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares an employee for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs tasks as directed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store execution and performance, focusing on excellent customer service and building consumer loyalty. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions:

  1. Management
  • Work effectively with store management and staff
  • Supervise store activities by assigning, directing, and following up
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture (Greet, offer help, thank)
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
    • Maintain customer confidentiality

    Required Qualifications:

    • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in retail

    Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

    Anticipated Weekly Hours: 20

    Time Type: Part time

    Pay Range: $16.00 - $26.00 per hour

    This range depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.
